On Thursday, November 1, Navy Federal Credit Union and the NHL will host the 2018 NHL Veterans Appreciation Night Viewing Party. In honor of Veterans Day and this event, Navy Federal is inviting friends of the American Freedom Foundation to enjoy this party. Thursday, November 1. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Registration required.

Veterans Day Field of Honor at George C Marshall High School

George C. Marshall High School's Class of 2019 will celebrate the Veterans Day holiday by creating a Field of Honor in front of the high school along Route 7. We invite you to support the Field of Honor and the class of 2019 by sponsoring a flag(s) to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. military. For each flag sold, GCM will make a donation to ServingTogether and can send an e-card to the family or the honoree to let them know they have been honored with a photo of the Field of Honor.

Healing Waters Frederick Event Oct 23rd

Healing Waters Fly Fishing Program has started a Frederick Maryland Chapter. Are you a disabled veteran who wants to learn more about fly fishing? Healing Waters is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active service members and veterans through fly fishing and associated activities. Come learn more at the Frederick Chapter open house on Tuesday, October 23rd from 7:00-9:00 PM.

Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals is partnering with ServingTogether, a program of EveryMind to offer a Mental Health First Aid: Military and Veteran Module 8 hour course.  If you a veteran or an individual working with veterans in our community this is the training for you. Free Maryland Legal Aid expungement clinic on Saturday, October 20th from 10AM to 12PM in Clinton, MD. Being hosted by Employ Prince George's County and the Prince George's County Workforce Development Board. Registration is required.

Federal Resume Workshop

Applying for a federal job can be tedious and time-consuming. It is important to understand how you look on paper when looking for a job and this is accomplished by a strong resume. The purpose of this workshop is to teach the Ten Steps approach to apply for a federal job through USAJobs or direct hire. Multiple events available from November 2, 2018 to December 1, 2018. Registration is required.
