    Employment Transition Workshop presented by Lockheed Martin. An event for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses looking for their next opportunity. Includes: Resume Review, Interview Preparation, Hiring Insights, Corporate Culture, Professional Networking, and Professional Social Media Tips.   • Warrior Herd – Couples Workshop – Oct 15

    Project Horse Empowerment Center in Purcellville, VA will be hosting a Warrior Herd Couples Workshop on Saturday, October 15 from 1 – 3 pm. Warrior Herd™ is comprised of 12 monthly wellness groups to support and enhance the interpersonal relationships between veterans and members of their families. Applications have now opened for Warrior Herd™. Applications due by October 10th.

  • Bunker Brews – Oct 10

    It’s Octoberfest! Join Bunker Labs for their monthly networking event at WeWork Dupont Circle. Enjoy some good brews, talk football, foliage, and, most importantly, connect with the movers and shakers here in the veteran business community.   • Coffee Connection for Military Spouses – Oct 12

    USO hosts a monthly Coffee Connection for Military Spouses. The next one will be Thursday, October 12 from 10 am – 11 am at the USO Kitchen on Fort Belvoir. Join in on the opportuntiy to network, share advice, discuss local events, and meet new friends! All active duty spouses are welcome to attend!

  • Booz Allen Hamilton Networking Dinner – Transitioning Servicemembers – Oct 16

    Booz Allen Hamilton Networking Dinner will be held on Monday, October 16 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir. Meet Booz Allen Hamilton representatives and learn about career opportunities. Listen as a Veteran currently working with Booz Allen Hamilton shares their insight and experience of the application and hiring process. Participants must have transitioned out of active duty service within the past 12 months, or are transitioning out of active duty service within the next 12 months. Space is limited and participants will be selected by lottery from registration list.

  • Fort Belvoir Career Fair – Oct 26

    Save the Date: Fort Belvoir SFL-TAP and ACS will be hosting the Fall 2017 Career Fair on Wednesday, October 26 from 9 am – 2 pm at the Fort Belvoir Community Center.

  • The Journey Conference – Oct 27

    The Journey Conference is an annual conference hosted by Brain Injury Services for survivors, family members, and professionals in the brain injury community. At the conference, you’ll attend sessions where local experts in the field of rehabilitation discuss practical strategies survivors can use in real life. Attending Journey is a great way for you to connect with other survivors and be educated on community resources available to you and your family as you work to find your “new normal.” Journey is the only conference in Northern Virginia that is designed and dedicated to survivors of brain injuries and their families.   • Free Dental Care for Veterans – Oct 12

    Kathleen Mullaney D.D.S. participates each year with Freedom Day USA and provides free services for Veteran’s on Thursday, October 12th from 8am – 5pm. They will be offering free dental exams, X-rays, oral cancer screenings, cleanings and extractions for needy veterans. To make an appointments for this event, please call 703-548-8584 to schedule. First come, first serve for appointments. *Proof of service required with valid Military ID or DD214 papers.
