• Employment for Justice-Involved Veterans Discussion – Dec 5

    The next Fairfax County Veteran Collaborative is Tuesday, December 5 from 1 – 3 pm at the Patrick Henry Library (101 Maple Avenue East, Vienna, VA 22180). We will be discussing employment and behavioral health services for Justice Involved Veterans.

  • Veterans Open Mic @ Dog Tag Bakery – Dec 14

    Veterans Open Mic Night is set for Thursday, December 14th at Dog Tag Bakery (3206 Grace Street Northwest, Washington, DC). Doors will open at 6:30PM and the event will begin at 7PM. This month’s open mic will be open to all types of performers – from comics to storytellers to musicians – and it will provide a platform for veteran artists to showcase their talents, express themselves, and have their voices heard in front of members of the local community.

  • Veteran Transition Workshop – Jan 13

    The Travis Manion Foundation will be holding a Veteran Transition Workshop on Saturday, January 13 from 12 – 5 pm at their office in Washington DC. Their veteran transition workshops aid veterans in leveraging their strengths, passions & skills to thrive personally and professionally in their post-military lives.

    One day veterans pro bono pop up legal clinic. Talk to an attorney who can help you with your legal issues in veterans law, disability and benefits claims and landlord/tenant law. Appointments recommended.

  • Holiday BourBiz Networking Event – Dec 14

    Bourbiz is back in DC with its Holiday event. Bourbiz is the new way for military members and veterans to connect professionally and grow whether you are active duty, Reserve/Guard, veteran, military spouse, caregiver, entrepreneur or working professional. Please come and enjoy our Washington, DC Bourbiz event on December 14th from 5-8pm. Enjoy sampling over 20 Bourbon, Whiskey, Scotch and wine-tasting choices. Admission for Small Business Owners, Business Networkers, Veterans, Military Spouses and Caregivers is FREE. Admission is FREE.

  • Stronger Families – Taste of OXYGEN Transition Workshop – Dec 14

    USO’s Pathfinder program presents Taste of OXYGEN, a workshop packed with information, interaction, and an open question and answer session, the 60-90 minute event creates a fun learning environment. The Transition Workshops help move couples or individuals into a deeper investment in their relationship during their transition from the military. Thursday, December 14 from 5 – 8 pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir.

  • Reveille Connect – Dec 12

    Reveille Connect is a breakfast networking opportunity hosted by the Greater Springfield Chamber’s Veterans committee. It’s for Veteran entrepreneurs, our military community (including spouses!) and Veterans in the workplace. Come for the networking. Enjoy some breakfast. Learn from our speaker. Tuesday, December 12th from 7:30-9:00am at Community Business Partnership in Springfield, VA. Cost: $10.

  • District of Columbia Veterans Appreciation Employment Expo 11/30

    A District of Columbia Department of Employment Services (DOES) VETERANS ONLY “Employment Fair” with an assembly of veteran friendly Employers, Apprenticeship programs and Training vendors seeking to hire and or train veterans in their respective organizations. An opportunity for veterans seeking employment, apprenticeship information and or training/vocational certifications a platform and format to meet their employment goals. Preregistration is required.

  • Veteran Employment Transition Summit (VETS) – Dec 6 & 7

    Veteran Employment Transition Summit (VETS) will be held on December 6 & 7th at Fort Belvoir Community Center beginning at 8:30 am each day. December 6th will feature American Dream U Entrepreneur Summit from 9 am – 1:30 pm followed by Hiring Our Heroes and a Career Networking Social. December 7th will include the Hiring Event sponsored by VEI, DVS and V3. Open to Military, spouses, veterans and civilians.

  • Tribute Display of Military Children and their Parents

    The City of Manassas will partner with the Military Child Education Coalition, to showcase the brave sons and daughters of military parents at our feature train show “Polar Express at Merry Old Town Manassas” held at the Center for the Arts, in recognition of these special families and their contributions. Perhaps you are a military family or know of a family deserving of this honor. If so, please send a photo that shows heartfelt emotion of a family that means the most to you to display. Deadline for submission is December 1.
