Bright Stars Bedtime Story

The Bright Stars Bedtime Stories virtual event series begins Tuesday, February 16th with readings occurring every Tuesday and Thursday evening through March 25th. Guest readers are celebrities, athletes and other luminaries committed to helping Easterseals fulfill its mission of making profound, positive differences in the daily lives of people of all ages with disabilities, special needs, military backgrounds, and their families.

An Evening of Veteran Storytelling

Please join the Veterans-Military Ministry Team and the Sacred Story Institute (SSI) for an evening of storytelling with two combat veterans, Chad S. (U.S. Navy Swimmer with Naval Warfare) and Matt Ingold (USMC Afghanistan veteran) and Sacred Story Institute founder, Father Bill Watson, SJ. Chad and Matt will read excerpts from their stories and there will be an opportunity to discuss the War and Grace story-writing project. Veterans and the Arts Initiative: Ukulele Workshop Series

Have you always wanted to try the ukulele? Musicians of all skill levels are invited to participate in a four-week series of virtual lessons with Glen McCarthy, guitar instructor at George Mason University. These tele workshops will take place Tuesday evenings, and are FREE to Veterans, Servicemembers, their families, and military caregivers – as well as to current healthcare workers.

Veterans Writing Circle

The Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing is proud to announce a partnership with the Pat Tillman Veterans Center and the Office for Veteran Military Academic Engagement to bring Veteran students and local Veterans a space to write together, workshop creative pieces, and share stories. This circle is Veteran led and Veteran-focused. If you are not a Veteran or related to a Veteran we ask that you kindly refrain from attending. All skill levels and genres are welcome!
