  • VEI VETWORKING – Sept 26 & Oct 4

    Northern Virginia Technology Council announces their next award winning and highly praised VEI VETWORKING cohort on 26 September and 4 October 2017 (two parts) held in McLean, VA. This is a no-cost signature education and mentoring program supporting employment in the civilian workforce for transitioning military members, Veterans and spouses.

  • Child Care Resources for Military Families – Sept 14

    The Fort Belvoir Collaborative will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 14 from 12 – 2 pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir. It will be a topic-driven discussion on Child Care Resources for Military Families on and around Fort Belvoir. We’ll have representatives from: Fort Belvoir Child & Youth Services, Fairfax County Office for Children, and Easter Seals Child Development Center. Join in on the discussion to learn about programs and services available for military families in the region, and have an opportunity to learn, ask questions, network and share. To ensure available space, registration for this meeting is required.

  • Military Appreciation Day at National Portrait Gallery – Aug 26

    Blue Star Families will be hosting a Military Family Appreciation Day at the National Portrait Gallery as part of their Blue Star Museums program on Saturday, August 26 from 11 am – 1:30 pm. There will be live a bluegrass band, private tours with a curator, kids’ activities and popcorn!

  • Military Spouse Career Summit – Oct 13 & 14

    The 2017 Military Spouse Career Summit will be held on Friday, October 13 & Saturday, October 14 at the Hilton in Springfield, VA. The event will include a Business Boot Camp, Speed Mentoring and Career Success Toolkit Sessions.

  • Blue Star Cares Avatar Toolkit Training – Aug 24 & 26

    Are you a caregiver? Don’t miss this unique opportunity! The caregiving team at Blue Star Families is evaluating how well an avatar-based training program can help military-connected caregivers improve their overall health and wellbeing and provide better care to their wounded warrior. If you’re a military-connected caregiver who is caring for a wounded warrior and over the age of 18, you’re invited to participate in this research study. You will receive a half day training and lunch will be provided.

  • DC Networking Reception and Hiring Expo with the Washington Nationals

    Join Hiring Our Heroes for a job fair for service members, veterans, and military spouses at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 to Thursday, September 7, 2017. All registered veterans and military spouses are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend that evening’s game between the Nationals and the Phillies. The night before the hiring fair, please join the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Program for a networking reception in at Capital One Headquarters in McLean, VA.   • Paid Internship with Warrior Canine Connection

    WCC will offer a one-year paid Internship for Veterans and Military Family Members. The goal of the Internship is for all participants to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to work as Mobility Service Dog Trainers with proficiency in WCC’s Mission Based Trauma Recovery model.

  • Morning Networking Session for Military Spouses – Aug 17

    Join the USO as we host a speed networking event for military spouses in the Washington D.C. military community. On Thursday, August 17th from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the Fort Belvoir USO, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about USO Programs, discuss the art of networking, and network with other military spouses, local employers and community leaders.
