The Wounded Warrior Project invites you to the

2^nd Annual WWP and Walter Reed Softball Classic

A softball game that is so much more than just a game.  What WWP has built over the last two years has grown from a few local Warriors looking to give back to their fellow Warriors currently recovering at Walter Reed into a wonderful family friendly event, where Warriors can enjoy themselves in the spirit of small-unit competitiveness and camaraderie while their families cheer them on and learn of the many different Mil/Vet non-profits that serve them.  They want to expose organizations, like our veteran-focused non-profits, to these individuals and shine a bright light on collaborative efforts to expand networks of support and resources available to them.

Would you please join in, as we celebrate our local Warriors and the Warriors currently recovering at Walter Reed, while also celebrating their families and empowering them to seek, find, and utilize the incredible life-changing programs available to them?

The teams will consist of local Warriors, most of whom have finished the physical aspect of their recoveries (many being 5, 10, and 15 year post injury), and Active Duty Warriors recovering at Walter Reed (most of them being battle injuries unfortunately requiring amputations and other adaptive care).  There will be a carousel, bounce house, face painting, and a super-soaker water-gun “shoot house” for the kiddos, and several partner-organizations lining the concourse level with info booths for outreach and engagement.

TIME: First-pitch – 1:05pm
