The Department of Labor supports hiring veterans throughout the agency. A sub-agency within DOL, The Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) is dedicated to the veteran workforce as well.
Saratoga WarHorse, Baltimore County Classes
Program Overview The Saratoga WarHorse program evolves over three days. Classes are offered several times each month in three locations with an average of five participants. The program is available to Veterans and Service Members from all branches of the military, regardless of when or for how long they served. It focuses on helping participants get past the physiological symptoms of their Post- Traumatic Stress. Saratoga WarHorse doesn’t provide traditional “therapy,” but does offer an undoubtedly therapeutic experience. There is NO cost for Veterans to attend the Saratoga WarHorse program. We pay 100% of travel, lodging, meal, and program expenses.

Share Your Expertise With the Veteran Community The Ninth Annual Warrior Community Integration Symposium planning committee is seeking roundtable discussion facilitators and panelists from external stakeholders who can provide unique learning opportunities for conference attendees on a variety of topics relevant to mobilizing communities to empower veterans and their families, proactively improving their quality of life to prevent veteran suicide.
‘We Remember’ a Virtual Gathering in Honor of Memorial Day
Join Community Building Art Works (CBAW) on Memorial Day to honor those who served with this special virtual Veteran Poetry Reading hosted by veterans Ben Weakley and Joe Merritt. The final work of art from the Collaborative Painting Project will also be unveiled. This event is open to all, and tickets are free.
Virtual Military Mental Health First Aid Training
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals is partnering with ServingTogether, a program of EveryMind to offer a Virtual Military Mental Health First Aid Training. This 8-hour virtual workshop covers topics such as depression, anxiety, suicide, psychosis, substance abuse and more, especially how they relate to working with our military and veteran connected populations. The workshop is provided FREE for military, veterans, their families and those who work or support them.

Carroll County Veterans Celebration
The Carroll County Board of Commissioners is pleased and proud to announce a new county event to celebrate and honor Carroll County Veterans, the Military, and their families. The exciting new event, Carroll County Veterans Celebration, will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022, from noon – 4:00 PM at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster. All Veterans, the Military, their families, and all Carroll County residents are invited to attend the free celebration.
