Virginia Women Veterans Program

Join the DVS with your favorite cup of coffee or tea in support of Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Month with Ms. Lisa Weems and Ms. Aszowavi Sakponou Adenka (Saundra). Virtual Women Veterans Support Groups are facilitated by female veterans in order to more efficiently address the needs of the Veterans, National Guard, and REservist communities by providing a relaxed and confidential environment in which to share past military and current transitional experiences with other veterans. There is a free legal clinic available for women veterans. This is open to all women of MD. DC, and VA. 

The Salvation Army Drive through Dinner

You are invited to the drive-through Thanksgiving dinner provided by the Salvation Army. Due to COVID19, there will be no sit down dining this year. 

Workhouse Military in the Arts Initiative

WMAI provides free, weekly therapeutic and/or fine arts Open Studio opportunities that are exclusive to the military community for veterans to explore their creativity through structured and open-ended art experiences such as painting, sculpture and drawing. Open Studio sessions are intended to foster creativity and encourage experimentation in a safe, communal atmosphere of cultural exchange, conversation, and freedom of expression. Open Studio occurs every Saturday from 12-3 PM in Warrior Way Art Studio in Building W-16. The second Saturday in each month is Family Open Studio Day, where veterans bring family members for a day of military family creativity. 

Veterans Appreciation Picnic

Local Veterans & their families are invited to join us for an outdoor picnic to honor our local veterans, brought to you by the Middleburg Community Center. This event is FREE, donations are appreciated. 50% of donations will go to a local veterans organization.

Join USO and other military spouses in the community to connect over coffee, have meaningful conversations, and make new friends!

Volunteer Registration- Feeding Independence

Please join The Independence Fund and their partners as they package and deliver (contact-free), food, and personal hygiene items to veterans.

NCServes Community Conversation and Engagement

Dr Kelly and NCServes present an eclectic theatrical experience that weaves together interactive theater, a dynamic embodied performance, and a multi-media production to call people into difficult conversations about community.

Willing Warriors 5 Year Celebration

Willing Warriors will celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run on AUGUST 15TH, 2020. This event is open to the public and will include a Corvette Show, live music, 50/50 raffle, games, contests, vendors, tours of the guest lodging houses, food and beer!

2020 Virginia Veterans & Military Affairs Conference

Please join the Virginia Chamber Foundation, the Virginia Veterans Services Foundation, and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, for the premier statewide Virginia Veterans & Military Affairs Conference and presentation of the annual V3 Awards. Now hosted as a virtual conference, attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from the government, military, and industry leaders as they discuss how the Commonwealth can better position itself to be the best state in the nation for our military community.
