The Convoy of Hope Community event will be held Saturday, June 1 in Woodbridge, VA. Hope Starts Here in your city, your community, your neighborhood. The Convoy of Hope event is just the beginning of a long-lasting movement that has the power to transform people’s lives, inspire compassion and service and bring people and organizations together like never before. This is a collaborative effort to bring hope to a city through free groceries, health screenings, job fairs, family portraits, haircuts, prayer, activities for children and more.

National Cemetery Administration will host Memorial Day ceremonies at VA national cemeteries across the country with the help of local communities. A National Service Commemorating Memorial Day will take place at the National Cathedral on Sunday, May 26th at 11:15 AM. This services will commemorate the honor and bravery of those who have died serving in our Armed Forces and honor those who currently serve.
LAST OUT: Elegy of a Green Beret
Last Out—Elegy of a Green Beret, a play written and performed by Ret. Lt. Col. Scott Mann, tells the story of Army Green Beret Danny Patton’s battles that range from tribal Afghanistan to his own living room . This play is intended to validate the sacrifices and struggles of warriors and their families, and is performed and staged by an all-veteran/veteran family cast and crew. Discount tickets available for veterans and their families. This play runs May 24th and 25th at the Richard J Ernst Community Cultural Center in Annandale, VA.
Silver Spring VET Center Open House
Veterans, active duty & military families, please join the Silver Spring VET Center as they celebrate their 40th Anniversary with an Open House on June 20th from 10:00am-3:00pm. Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families.
