George Mason University's Veterans and the Arts Initiative has a great line up of events for Fall 2018, including Veterans Community Art Workshop, Songwriting Series for Military Children, Veterans History Project Lecture and Interview Workshops, and their signature Veterans Day event scheduled for Nov 10.

Gaithersburg Community Based Outpatient Clinic Grand Opening – Sept 7

The DC VA Medical Center will host the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new DC VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)  on Friday September 7, 2018 at 10:30 am.

Warriors to the Workforce

The American Freedom Foundation will host Warriors To The Workforce National Harbor (WTTW) presented in association with Easter Seals Veteran Staffing Network and in conjunction with the Air Force Association's 2018 Air, Space and Cyber Conference on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD in the National Harbor Conference Room #10 from 0900 - 1400. Veterans, military service members and military spouses admission is free.  Registration is required.

Veteran/Military Outing to Camp Elk Tannery in Jamison City, PA

For veterans and military personnel, Sierra Club Military Outdoors is sponsoring a trip to Camp Elk Tannery in rural Pennsylvania. Please join them for a weekend of archery, hiking, cabin camping, and other outdoors activities during the weekends of August 17-19 and an October Weekend TBD. This outing provides the opportunity to experience the outdoors with the camaraderie of others that share a military background.

Hosted by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic. Bring your lunch and join an in-store nutritionist at Giant for a nutrition workshop. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM at Easterseals in Silver Spring, MD. Registration is required.

Volunteers Needed for Project Homeless Connect

The United Way of the National Capital Area's Project Homeless Connect brings together essential services at the area's largest resource fair to meet the needs of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. Thursday, September 20th at the DC Armory. Morning and afternoon shifts available. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to make this events a success. Together we can make a difference.
