VA Expands Caregiver Stipend to Cover Eligible Vietnam, Korea and World War II Veterans

On October 1, 2020, the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers expanded the benefits to the family caregivers of Vietnam, Korea, and World War II veterans. They can qualify to get paid for their help and have access to caregiver training, mental health services and counseling, and more.

Workhouse Military in the Arts Initiative

WMAI provides free, weekly therapeutic and/or fine arts Open Studio opportunities that are exclusive to the military community for veterans to explore their creativity through structured and open-ended art experiences such as painting, sculpture and drawing. Open Studio sessions are intended to foster creativity and encourage experimentation in a safe, communal atmosphere of cultural exchange, conversation, and freedom of expression. Open Studio occurs every Saturday from 12-3 PM in Warrior Way Art Studio in Building W-16. The second Saturday in each month is Family Open Studio Day, where veterans bring family members for a day of military family creativity. 

Department of Defense’s Online Survivor Benefits Report

This no-cost webinar will discuss the details of the Online Survivor Benefits Report and provide information for surviving family members and service providers on how to access and use it. The OSBR is interactive and available for survivors of all service members who have died on active duty. The reports display all current and estimated future benefits and allow survivors to input "what if" scenarios.

Together Toward Transformation: A CCAoA Roundtable Series

COVID-19 has thrown a wrench into most summer camp plans for kids. So, here at Blue Star Families, they're kicking off their inaugural virtual Blue Star Summer Camp to help keep your elementary-aged milkids (6-11 years old) engaged, busy, and active this season, even while social distancing!

TAPS VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY

TAPS will be hosting a virtual Graduation Ceremony to celebrate their 2020 TAPS graduates aging out of the Good Grief Camp and moving into the Young Adults program. TAPS, also, invites Young Adults who have graduated from their academic endeavor to share in this experience and offer an opportunity for connection to all of their graduates and families during the social hour following the ceremony.
