Women Veterans Career and Transitioning Seminar & Networking Reception

Whether you plan to transition from military service in 20 years or 2 days, the Women’s Veterans Career and Transitioning Seminar will help you plan your transition. The Seminar will present guest speakers who will share their transition stories and provide additional insight regarding their transition experience highs and lows. The Seminar will also host a panel of pro-military civilian employers that will engage in a question and answer session designed to discuss relevant issues in today’s talent acquisition industry. Melwood Launches abilIT Pilot Program

Melwood, one of the nation’s largest employers of people of differing abilities, is embarking on an innovative new project to provide cybersecurity and wraparound professional development training to injured veterans and people of differing abilities. The “abilIT” pilot program launches early next year in Arlington, VA, and is actively recruiting for its inaugural class. The Summer Series consists of in-person Community-Based Workforce Development Workshops complete with fun "Coffee Tastings" and convenient Virtual Sessions you can attend from anywhere. Free Webinars Hosted by OPM

Beginning May 30th the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will be hosting free webinars about the process of applying for employment with the federal government. If you or someone you know is interested in working for the federal government, then these webinars will be of interests. All session are free. However, they are limited to 1,500 participants each. Webinars held on a variety of dates throughout June. Registration is required.

Career Transition Education thru VEI Vetworking

Launched in 2013, the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI) connects Veterans and military spouses to employment opportunities and provides support to member companies in their efforts to recruit, hire, train and retain qualified Veteran and military spouse employees. The next cohort of the VEI Vetworking for Military, Veterans and Spouses will be on May 23 and May 30th. The program is broken down into two sessions of three hours each. Each session runs from 5-8 pm and dinner is provided. There is a maximum of 25 per cohort and once signed up you must commit to attending both sessions. Registration is open now.
