Suicide Prevention Educational Program Series

American Suicide Prevention in partnership with ServiceSource in Oakton, VA are offering a series of three Suicide Prevention educational programs this fall. Join them for one or more. Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention on Thursday, 9/26. “More Than Sad: Teen Depression” on Monday, 10/14 and It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health on 11/14. We host this event every year because our mission is to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness and reduce the stigma that is often associated with mental health challenges. Through Run for EveryMind, we strive to educate the community while providing an opportunity to engage in a positive, healthy activity that promotes good mental and physical health. 2019 Behavioral Health Symposium

The MD Army National Guard Behavioral Health Team and Resilience, Risk Reduction & Suicide Prevention (R3SP) team are joining forces to host the 2019 Behavioral Health Symposium on Saturday, September 7th at the Dundalk Armory. This year's Symposium will offer Advanced Skills Training in the areas of Suicide Prevention, Substance Abuse, and Resilience. Behavioral health, medical, resilience, suicide intervention, drug testing, military police, and chaplain personnel are encouraged to attend. Addiction Treatment in Military & Veteran Culture Specialty Webinar Series

The Association for Addiction Professionals launches a 6 part specialty webinar training series focused on addiction treatment in Military & Veteran Culture. The first webinar, Supporting Those Who Served: Substance Use and Comprehensive Mental Health for Military Affiliated Populations takes place on Saturday, 8/24. Participants may attend one or multiple webinars in this series. Those who successfully attend the full webinar series and pass all six CE quizzes for this six-part series will be eligible to apply for the Certificate of Achievement for Addiction Treatment in Military & Veteran Culture.
