Military Spouse and Caregiver Scholarships

The Hope For the Warriors 2020 Scholarship Application Period is now OPEN through May 31, 2020. The Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship Program identifies, recognizes, and rewards post-9/11 spouses/caregivers for their strength, fidelity, and resolve despite adversity. Scholarships aid in continued education at a reputable, accredited university, college, or trade school for spouses/caregivers as they assume critical roles in the financial well being of their families.

Military Spouse Virtual Coffee Connection w/ USO Fort Belvoir

Fort Belvoir Military Spouses - join the USO Metro monthly Military Spouse Coffee Connections on Thursday, March 26 from 10 am - 11 am via Zoom. Join other military spouses in the community to connect over coffee, have meaningful conversations, and make new friends! Open to all spouses of currently-serving military.

Hire Heroes USA Webinar: Interviewing as a Military Spouse

Are you a military spouse who is struggling with interviewing? Do you feel like you might be saying the wrong things in an interview? Join Hire Heroes USA for a webinar featuring a panel of volunteers who can speak on what you should disclose in an interview and how you can talk about gaps in employment. They will be covering topics relating to interviewing.

2019 Military Family Lifestyle Survey Results are in!

The Blue Star Families annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey results, in collaboration with Syracuse University’s Institute for Veteran and Military Families , are here! With over 11,000 respondents including service members, veterans, National Guard, Reserve and their families, the #BSFSurvey received the highest response rate since its establishment in 2009! The largest survey of its kind, it is used by policymakers in D.C. and across the country to learn about and meet the most pressing needs of military families like yours.

Military Spouses: A Course for Change – Transition Summit

Is your spouse preparing to transition out of the military within the next 5 years? Are you looking for ways to help prepare for this transition? USO-Metro, Blue Star Families, IVMF Onward to Opportunity, and ServingTogether are teaming up to conduct an event specifically for military spouses on Saturday, February 29. DC BourBiz at the MGM National Harbor

MGM National Harbor Bourbiz DC is back on April 29th 2020.  These events attract a host of resources such as Fortune 500 Business Leaders, Ted Talk speakers, Medal of Honor Recipients, Professional Athletes, Military Leaders, and TV & social media personalities. The Veteran/Military Spouse Resource Event will have the same ability to power network with up to 75 resources! 

Discovering Your Spark in 2 Locations!

Exciting news that USO-Metro will be hosting Brittany Boccher, 2017 Military Spouse of the Year, for TWO of her Discover Your Spark workshops in February. Military spouses will have the opportunity to talk about how to live their best lives with passion and purpose. These events will be held at Fort Belvoir and Fort Meade in February!

Speed Networking Event for Military Spouses

Due to popular demand, join the USO for a fun, fast paced speed networking session for military spouses in the Fort Belvoir Military Community.  On 01/23/20 from 09:30 to 13:30, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the USO, the art of networking, create and practice your elevator pitch and speed network with other military spouses, employers, organizations, and community leaders.  All participants will walk away meeting new friends, contacts, and professionals.
