DESCRIPTION:MCVET is partnering with ServingTogether\, a program of EveryMind to offer a Mental Health First Aid: Military and Veteran Module 8 hour course.  If you a veteran or an individual working with veterans in our community this is the training for you. \nMental Health First Aid: For Veterans and Persons Working with Veterans in our Community\nFamily members and personnel working with military\, veterans and families are often not aware of how to engage veterans with mental illnesses and addictions. Mental Health First Aid training aims to increase mental health literacy and to decrease stigmatizing attitudes in our communities. Like regular First Aid or CPR\, Mental Health First Aid is designed to give people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. SUMMARY:Military Culture and Moral Injury in Veterans (Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:This is the second Regional Community of Practice training event for our network users in the Mid-Atlantic Region\, from our AmericaServes providers in Greater Pittsburgh\, the National Capital Region\, and larger South Hampton Roads communities. \nOur next training will be a two-part presentation. Virginia Veteran and Family Support will begin by providing network users with insight into military culture\, what it is like to serve in the military\, and the nuances of transitioning back into civilian life. DESCRIPTION:Official Launch of the ServingTogether Network and Veteran Services in Prince George’s County \n ServingTogether and The Prince George’s Office of Veteran Affairs have teamed up to hold the official launch of the ServingTogether Network and Veteran services in Prince George’s County on Tuesday\, November 19th. A large part of the success of the Provider Network is to have participation from providers delivering the services most requested by our veterans. At the November 19th event we will demonstrate the ServingTogether Provider Network and answer any questions about participation in the Network. Please encourage any organizational providers you know who would be a good fit for the ServingTogether network to come out and learn more about joining.
