Blue Star Families will be hosting a Community Caregiver event on "Learning to Cook with an Instant Pot" on Friday, September 15 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir. Hylton Performing Arts Center will be holding Guitar Lessons with Glen McCarthy on Tuesdays from September 5 through November 5 from 7 - 8 pm. FREE for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families, and military caregivers.

Child Care Resources for Military Families – Sept 14

The Fort Belvoir Collaborative will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 14 from 12 - 2 pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir. It will be a topic-driven discussion on Child Care Resources for Military Families on and around Fort Belvoir. We’ll have representatives from: Fort Belvoir Child & Youth Services, Fairfax County Office for Children, and Easter Seals Child Development Center. Join in on the discussion to learn about programs and services available for military families in the region, and have an opportunity to learn, ask questions, network and share. To ensure available space, registration for this meeting is required.

DC Networking Reception and Hiring Expo with the Washington Nationals

Join Hiring Our Heroes for a job fair for service members, veterans, and military spouses at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 to Thursday, September 7, 2017. All registered veterans and military spouses are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend that evening's game between the Nationals and the Phillies. The night before the hiring fair, please join the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Program for a networking reception in at Capital One Headquarters in McLean, VA. Fighting for Another Tomorrow Charity Golf Tournament September 13th

Announcing the Fighting for Another Tomorrow Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Platoon 22 on September 13, 2017. The event will include a 4-person best ball, breakfast, lunch and awards receptions following the golf. There will be raffles, a silent auction and many on course games!! Registration is required.

9/11 Heroes Run – Alexandria – Sept 9

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5k +1/2M family fun run/walk will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 9:00 AM at Carl Sandburg Middle School in Alexandria, VA. Runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages are welcome. Events take place all over the world, on or near September 11th, and are 100% organized by local community volunteers. It is the perfect opportunity for your community to personally come out and thank your local veterans, their families, and first responders in an annual, fun, and family friendly environment!
