Uncommon Coders – Learn Java at no cost

Northern Virginia Technology Council is pleased to announce a new program under the Veteran Employment Initiative (VEI) for 2017- Uncommon Coders. Northern Virginia Community College has partnered with the NVTC Veteran Employment Initiative to provide a no-cost course teaching the Java programming language to a cohort of up to 20 Veterans and military/Veteran spouses.

Treating Pain in Patients with PTSD

Register for this free webinar from the VA, Wednesday 1/18 from 2-3pm ET. The prevalence of PTSD is elevated in those suffering from chronic pain, and this is even more true among the Veteran population. Dominion Energy Veteran Guitar Workshop Series – Spring 2018

The Hylton Performing Arts Center's Veterans and the Arts Initiative will be kicking off their Dominion Energy Veteran Guitar Workshop Series in February 2018. Holding Level I and Level II sessions on Tuesdays from February 20 through April 24. These sessions are free for veterans, servicemembers, and their families and caregivers! ‘Thank You For Your Service’ Screening Jan 24

A screening of the documentary film, Thank You For Your Service, hosted by Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 227, will be at the Angelika Film Center on Tuesday, January 24 at 7:30pm. Dealing with the mental health issues confronting many returning veterans, this is described as one of the best films of the year.
