The Beauty of Giving presents Share A Haircut on November 11 at Hair Cuttery. For every adult hair cut purchased on November 11, a free haircut certificate will be donated to a veteran through partnerships with local agencies in the community.

American Red Cross Reconnection Workshops

The Red Cross offers a series of five different workshops designed for service members, veterans, and their families The workshops are free and available to all those impacted by a military deployment from all branches of the Armed Forces, which includes Reserve, National Guard, active duty service members, veterans and their families, including spouses, parents, siblings, significant others and close friends. along with two modules designed for children. Each workshop is facilitated by trained mental health providers and are approximately 1.5 hours in length. The Reconnection Workshops are confidential small-group modules, led by licensed mental health professionals.

American Legion Post 41 Launches Fund Raising Effort for Veterans

American Legion Post 41 in Silver Spring, MD has coordinated with the American Legion and VFW department of NC and is launching "Operation Lumberton County Vet Support" to assist with the needs of veterans and family members who suffered loses due to Hurricane Matthew.

Veterans Community Access Center Now Offered in Frederick

The Martinsburg VET Center partners with Frederick Community College and Frederick Aging Department to offer counseling service hours in two locations in Frederick each week to provide counseling, outreach and referral services to a larger population of combat veterans and their families.

Fort Belvoir Fall Career Fair – Oct 27

Army Community Service (ACS) and Soldier for Life - Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) present the Fall 2016 Career Fair on Thursday, October 27 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Fort Belvoir Community Center. A special Salute our Veterans event will be held at the Sudley Shopping Center in Manassas on Saturday, October 29 from 11 am to 2 pm featuring a flag ceremony, guest speakers, military vehicles, local businesses & artisans, and a free buffet lunch for veterans and family.

American Festival Pops Orchestra – November 13

On November 13th at 2 p.m. the American Festival Pops Orchestra will perform "A Salute to Our Veterans" at the George Mason University's Center for the Arts. Veterans and active military receive a 10% discount on tickets (up to 4) with coupon code "THANKYOU".
