Military Culture & Moral Injury in Veterans – Webinar

This webinar contains two presentations. First, Jonathon Patrick from the Virginia Department of Veterans Services will provide insight into military culture, what its like to serve in the military, and the nuances of transitioning back into civilian life. The second part of the training will be a presentation by Dr. Paula Domenici of the Center for Deployment Psychology will provide an extensive understanding of moral injury in veterans.

Prince George’s County Veterans Resource Fair

Join County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks, the Prince George's County Commission for Veterans and the Prince George's County Memorial Library System for the Prince George's County Maryland Veteran Resource Fair. The goal of this one day event is to connect veterans and their families to services and to strengthen veteran support within Prince George's County.  The event is free and  is open to veterans, military member, families, caregivers, veteran service organizations and providers.  Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Oxon Hill Branch Library in Oxon Hill, MD.

Defusing Anger Workshop

Join the American Red Cross and the Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals for a Defusing Anger Workshop on Saturday, 10/26 at 9am in Silver Spring, MD. This workshop address the anger that can occur when service members, veterans and military families undergo stress. This is a free and confidential program that offers ways to work through challenges and build skills through small-group discussions and hands-on activities. Registration requested.

Special Education Law & Advocacy Conference

Join the Parent's Place of Maryland for a one day special education law and advocacy program focusing on four areas; Special education law, rights and responsibilities, Tests and measurements to measure progress & regression, SMART IEPs and Introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy. There is a fee to attend this conference. CEU credits available. Registration is required.

Veterans & Dependents Information Seminar

Join DAV Chapter 26 and their Auxilliary for a Veterans and Dependents Information Seminar on Saturday, October 26th from 9AM to 4PM at the Lexington Park Rescue Squad Building in Lexington Park, MD. National and Chapter Service Officers will be present to answer questions and initiate claims. This is a free event.
