  • SemperFit Health Fair & Walk/Run at Work Day – Sept 14

    Semper Fit Health Fair and Football Combine and the Marine Corps Marathon National Walk/Run at Work Day will be held on Thursday, September 14, at Butler Stadium at MCB Quantico. The rain location will be inside the Barber Physical Activity Center.

  • Prince George’s Community College Veteran Resource Fair September 14th

    Come out for a day to learn about military and veteran related organizations and resources within the community. This event is open to all active duty,veterans, spouses, dependents, and/or caregivers.

  • Building Networks of Support for Service Members, Veterans, and their Families

    The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) SMVF Technical Assistance (TA) Center will host a webinar that highlights three examples of VSOs and other veteran initiatives that are partnering with the community to better serve the behavioral health needs of veterans and their families: (1) The George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative, (2) the Cohen Veterans Network, and (3) the Student Veterans of America. Participants will learn how they can work together with these organizations and others to strengthen their community’s network of support. Registration is required.

  • 10th Annual Fairfax Out of the Darkness Community Walk – Sept 16

    The 10th Annual Fairfax Out of the Darkness Community Walk – Walk to Fight Suicide – will be held on Saturday, September 16 beginning at 9 am.

  • Volunteer Orientation Night at Serve Our Willing Warriors

    Serve Our Willing Warriors will be holding a Volunteer orientation on Thursday August 31 and September 28, 6pm to 7pm, at Warrior Retreat at Bull Run in the conference room at the back of the Retreat (16013 Waterfall Road Haymarket VA 20169). Open to all new volunteers.

  • 9/11 Heroes Run – Alexandria – Sept 9

    The 9/11 Heroes Run 5k +1/2M family fun run/walk will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 9:00 AM at Carl Sandburg Middle School in Alexandria, VA. Runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages are welcome. Events take place all over the world, on or near September 11th, and are 100% organized by local community volunteers. It is the perfect opportunity for your community to personally come out and thank your local veterans, their families, and first responders in an annual, fun, and family friendly environment!

  • Veterans Recognition & Resource Day July 10th Frederick, MD

    Veterans, family members and the community invited to the Frederick County Department of Aging’s Veteran Recognition & Resource Day event. Monday, July 10th from 9am-2pm at the Frederick Senior Center. Lunch provided. Registration required.

  • Serve Our Willing Warriors in need of volunteers

    Serve Our Willing Warriors is growing and we have been approved to construct an additional home on our land. This will enable SOWW to serve two services members and their families simultaneously. With this approval comes the need for more dedicated volunteers.
