  • Stronger Families – Taste of OXYGEN Transition Workshop – Dec 14

    USO’s Pathfinder program presents Taste of OXYGEN, a workshop packed with information, interaction, and an open question and answer session, the 60-90 minute event creates a fun learning environment. The Transition Workshops help move couples or individuals into a deeper investment in their relationship during their transition from the military. Thursday, December 14 from 5 – 8 pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir.

  • Humanitini: Veterans & Reintegrating with Civilian Life – Nov 2

    The Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs is proud to partner with Humanities D.C. to host a veteran centered humanitini on Thursday, November 2! Come out and join us for a lively panel discussion on ways our community can help veterans transition from military to civilian life.   • Managing Employment Change – Nov 14

    USO Metro at Fort Belvoir will be hosting a Managing Employment Change workshop presented by Prudential Pathways. Helping transitioning servicemembers prepare for their financial transition. This two-hour session will help you understand: which benefits transition with you, how to manage your cash flow, & how to maintain financial wellness during your transition. Tuesday, November 14 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.

  • Everything You Need to Know – Bridging the Gap to Veterans and their Services

    Join subject matter experts and explore topics you and your family will need to know to make the transition from military to civilian life. Friday, October 20th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Anne Arundle County Career Center. Registration is required.

  • Dog Tag Inc Fellowship Program Applications Being Accepted

    The Dog Tag Inc. Fellowship works in partnership with Georgetown University to deliver a professional development program designed to prepare military veterans with service connected disabilities, spouses and caregivers to find success as they transition into the civilian workforce. Applications for the January 2018 fellowship program are being accepted now through October 18th.

  • Wellness for the Body, Soul and Spirit Workshop – Oct 21

    Veterans, Active Duty Military Service Members, and Military and Veteran Spouses, are cordially invited to a FREE Transition Workshop: “Wellness and Healing: Practical Techniques and Tools for Self-Care.” This workshop will discuss Wellness for the Body, Soul and Spirit on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 beginning at 10:00 am until 1 pm at Knights of Columbus Hall- 5034 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Second Floor, Washington DC.

  • Booz Allen Hamilton Networking Dinner – Transitioning Servicemembers – Oct 16

    Booz Allen Hamilton Networking Dinner will be held on Monday, October 16 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir. Meet Booz Allen Hamilton representatives and learn about career opportunities. Listen as a Veteran currently working with Booz Allen Hamilton shares their insight and experience of the application and hiring process. Participants must have transitioned out of active duty service within the past 12 months, or are transitioning out of active duty service within the next 12 months. Space is limited and participants will be selected by lottery from registration list.

  • FREE CCNA Course for Transitioning Service Members – Applications Being Accepted

    USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore is now accepting applications for our next CCNA course offered for transitioning service members. The course is offered November 7, 2017 through February 3, 2018, with classes held T/TH evening from 6:00pm – 9:30pm, and Saturday morning from 8:00am – 12:00pm at USO on Fort Belvoir. Applications must be completed and submitted by 3:00pm, Tuesday October 24. There will be no exceptions. Participants accepted in to the program will be notified on or about October 31.

  • Reboot Combat Recovery – 12 Week Course

    The course just started and still has seats available! Join in starting on Thursday, September 28 at 6:30 pm for two hours a week for 12 weeks, focusing on the spiritual aspects of combat recovery. Held each Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Floris United Method Church in Herndon. This is a free course – not a support group – providing practical help for Veterans, Service members, first responders and their families dealing with the after effects of trauma. You won’t find shortcuts or easy answers, but instead you’ll find solutions that last. Dinner and childcare are provided.
