Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts (VAIC) Scholarship Program

The Veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship Program 2018-2019 Application Available Now in MDCAPS (Maryland College Aid Processing System).  This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to United States armed forces personnel who served in the Afghanistan or Iraq Conflicts, and their sons, daughters, or spouses who are current high school seniors, and full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled in an eligible accredited Maryland postsecondary institution.

The Virginia Women Veterans Summit will be held on June 14 & 15 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center. This year's focus is on Change Makers and Trailblazers. Hosted by Virginia Department of Veteran Services, U.S. Dept. of Veteran Affairs, Disabled American Veterans, Virginia National Guard, Women Veterans Interactive, VEC and ESGR. More details to come.

Dog Tag Inc. Fellowship Program Summer Cohort – Applications Open Now!

Dog Tag Inc. Summer 2018 Fellowship Program is now open for applications. Do you know any entrepreneurially-minded service-disabled veteran, military spouse, and/or caregiver? Through an intensive five-month program, Dog Tag Inc. provides participants with a transformative opportunity: an education through Georgetown University and experiential learning in our small business venture, Dog Tag Bakery. Upon completion of the fellowship program, fellows are business ready, competitive, and employable.

Veterans Clinic Conference: Feb 28 – Mar 1

NLSVCC 2018 Conference will be February 28 – March 1 in Washington, DC (Offices of McDermott Will & Emery - 500 North Capitol Street, NW). The NLSVCC is a collaborative effort of the nation’s law school legal clinics dedicated to addressing the unique legal needs of U.S. military veterans on a pro bono basis. This conference is for both new and advanced practitioners.  Come learn how to start a pro bono Veterans Clinic!

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals will host a Health and Wellness workshop on Saturday, February 24th at 10am in Silver Spring, MD. Come out to learn more about the fundamentals of whole foods nutrition. This is a free event. Registration is required.

Stress Resiliency Course for Military Families and Veterans

Hosted by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals in Silver Spring MD. This is a 6-session program focused on increasing stress resiliency. Learn about the effects of stress and how to counteract them with behavioral, cognitive, and communication tools. The program is provided at no cost to military families and veterans. Session 1 is Friday, March 2nd from 1300-1430. Registration is required.
