The Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) invites you to a memorable evening of live music, laughter, and striking stories from their community of veteran-artists and special guests. International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day Nov 26

Each year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention supports hundreds of large and small Survivor Day events around the world, in which suicide loss survivors come together to find connection, understanding and hope through their shared experience. Join them at the Columbia, MD event on Saturday, November 23rd from 1:00-4:00 PM. The event features an AFSP-produced documentary that offers a message of growth, resilience and connection.

Alarm.com G.R.I.T. Apprenticeship Program

Check out this new and ground-breaking technology apprenticeship opportunity targeted to Veterans and military spouses at Alarm.com.  The NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative is a partner with the Northern Virginia Community College working under a GO Virginia grant on this program and it includes full pay and benefits from day 1- no experience is required for either position but candidates will be assessed for aptitude.  Note that the deadline for submissions is 1 December 2019.

22 March for Life is seeking persons interested in hosting a veteran or first responded this Thanksgiving Holiday.  The organization is also asking any veteran or first responder who has no where to go for the holiday to contact them to be matched with a host. Self-Compassion and Resilience for Healers Working with Trauma and Problem Gamblers

Compassion Fatigue is an occupational hazard for those who are in the practice of helping others to make lifestyle transformations. The workshop will address and explore responses to trauma from the perspective of clients and mental health professionals. Participants will learn techniques for working with trauma survivors and gamblers. DC Hires Vets Event Nov 15

The DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs and the DC National Guard on Friday, November 15, 2019 will host its third DC Hires Vets event offering veterans and veteran spouses the opportunity to connect with District and Federal agencies as well as private sector companies. Select participating agencies will conduct interviews and make contingent job offers on-the-spot.

Providing Health Care for Military Veterans Webinar

The purpose of this knowledge-based live series is to further educate non-VA providers and healthcare teams an in-depth review the whole health system of care, including the elements of the model in action throughout the country, implementation and evaluation strategies as well as testimonials from Veterans receiving this care, and a discussion around provision of complementary and integrative health within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and in the community.
