March 28th 2019 at Woodgrove High School, in Purcellville, VA
Family, Stroller, and Service Dog Friendly 5k
The event will start with a family friendly 5K run to honor fallen EOD warriors, followed by the World Record attempt for the fastest 1 mile in an EOD bomb suit. Team FASTRAX will be parachuting in an American flag to kick-off the competition. There will also be multiple military demonstrations for runners to enjoy. The 5k is a fun run to show support for the EOD Warriors who serve and continue to serve our country and to benefit the EOD Warrior Foundation that continue support these Warriors during and after service.
Come cheer on first female competitor, U.S. Army Captain Kaitlyn Hernandez, as she attempts to break the Guinness World Record for females running 1 mile in an EOD bomb suit. Captain Ashley Sorensen, the current world record holder, will also be in attendance, encouraging Captain Hernandez!
