American Red Cross Seeking Volunteers

crossThe American Red Cross is seeking volunteers to help facilitate their Reconnection Workshops.

  • All applications need to be funneled to the SAF Regional Director
  • All completed packets (applications, resumés/CVs, and endorsement letters) should be emailed to chris.duffley@redcross.org.
  • Deadline to submit application packets is 5/6/16

Facilitator requirements

All Reconnection Workshop modules are led by specially trained Red Cross volunteers who also are licensed mental health professionals. The requirements of a facilitator are:

  • Hold a Master’s level or higher mental health professional degree with independent, unencumbered license in one of the following disciplines: Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, School Counseling/Psychology, Nursing (APN or CS in Mental Health area), or RN’s who are board certified in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
  • Facilitators interested in facilitating a course for military children must have experience working with children, adolescents or families.
  • Apply and attend a Resiliency Facilitator Pre-Service Training.
  • These are additional recommended qualifications:

o Personal and/or professional military experience (spouse, former military, history working/serving military community, etc)

o Experience with groups

o Clinical experience working with military.

Training Dates

6/7 – Travel

6/8 – Day 1 facilitation training

6/9 – Day 2 facilitation training

6/10 – Children’s Module training, or travel home

6/11 – Travel if needed
