A Conversation with Charles McGee
Join Silver Spring Town Center for their next SPARKLE: In Conversation with Oldest Living Tuskegee Airman Brigadier General Charles McGee. Wednesday, February 12th at 2pm in the Silver Spring Civic Building. FREE & all seniors welcome!
In honor of Black History Month, they welcome Brigadier General Charles McGee. Now 100 years of age, he is the oldest living member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. He will share his experiences as an African American pioneer in the U.S. Army Air Corps. His 137 combat missions in World War II eventually grew to a total of 409 with the outbreak of war in Korea and Vietnam. Brigadier General McGee is a member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame and recipient of a Congressional Gold Medal. His most recent time in the cockpit, incidentally, was just a few weeks ago to celebrate his 100th birthday-on Pearl Harbor Day!
They expect this SPARKLE to be completely full, so be sure to RSVP.
RSVP by email to: programs@silverspringvillage.org or by phoning the Village at 301-503-7401.
Presented by SSTCi in collaboration with Silver Spring Village, the SPARKLE Program is a monthly community outreach series in the Silver Spring Civic Building that enriches the lives of seniors in our area. SPARKLE stands for Senior Programs Aimed at Re-Kindling Lifetime Engagement.
