Advocacy Summit – The Society of Military Psychology

The Society for Military Psychology (Division 19, American Psychological Association), Uniformed Services University – Center for Deployment Psychology, Catholic University of America, and District of Columbia Psychological Association (DCPA) are sponsoring a three-day Summit virtually from Washington, DC on October 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2020 from 10:45 am – 3:00 pm ET with break out meeting following at 3:00 pm. Four CE credits available per day. 

The Summit brings together multiple Division 19 Think Tanks and subject matter experts in our field from multiple applied psychology arenas, who will present on topics including academic and training, forensic, coaching and leadership, diversity, ethics, international, moral injury, SLP, ECP/students, and suicide prevention.

Additionally, a diverse range of DoD Initiatives and Veteran/Military Service Organizations (VSO/MSO) that includes the Career Pathway VSOs, Family VSOs, and Outdoor VSOs will look at various applied psychological and wellbeing initiatives will provide an overview of their programs. At the close of each day, there will be breakout session to follow-on with speakers from the Summit to network and collaborate.

There will also be a virtual poster session, and more information will be available at a later time.

In the spirit of advocacy and collaboration, they hope that the conversations initiated at the Summit continue so that they may all be strong and unified advocates in Military Psychology.
