Arcadia Veteran Farmer Program

The Veteran Farmer Reserve is a 12-month tuition based program that takes place one weekend a month for the full year. This is the best program for someone with a full-time job or school, or who already owns land and wants to start farming soon (or already is), or who is just exploring the idea of farming in the future. The Reserve Program will begin its program year in January 2021.

The Veteran Farm Fellowship is a full-time, 9-month, paid, on-farm apprenticeship at our farm in Southeast Fairfax County. Fellows are also required to participate in the year-long Veteran Reserve weekends. The Farm Fellowship will begin in March 2021.

WHO SHOULD APPLY: Veterans with honorable or general discharges and active and reserve military personnel. Military spouses and immediate family members will be considered on a case-by-case basis, with preference given to those with a partner/family member in the program.

WHEN TO APPLY: They are accepting applications for the Reserve on a rolling basis; please do not delay applying as class size is limited.

DEADLINES: Applications for the Reserve are due Nov. 30th.
