The Military Life Cycle: Understanding and Working with Veterans and their Families

Maryland's Commitment to Veterans will be hosting a FREE virtual training event entitled "The Military Life Cycle: Understanding and Working with Veterans and their Families".  This training will be conducted by the Center for Deployment Psychology.  Participants will earn 6.5 CEUs (Social Workers/Psychologists/Counselors) upon completion of the full day of training.  

Spook-tacular Halloween Party

Come have a spooky good time with us and our friends from the CVMA 22-5! It is a free event welcome to ghouls and monsters of all ages! All donations from the night go towards Christmas presents for kids of veterans in need. Free for all ages. 

2020 Senior Veterans Grab and Go Celebration

M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County is honoring our Prince George’s County senior veterans (ages 60 & better) in a special, social-distanced Grab and Go meal celebration. Senior veterans are welcome to drive through and receive a hot catered meal for two and a small gift of appreciation. Veterans will be greeted by cheering staff, event sponsors, the Maryland Army National Guard, and patriotic music! Please note: This event is only for veterans (ages 60 & older) who reside in Prince George’s County.

November Battle Rhythm

Join America's Warrior Partnership for November Battle Rhythm. Their meeting will focus on Empowering the Veteran Family Unit. Learn about research and the best practices to empower veteran families.

Virginia Women Veterans Program

Join the DVS with your favorite cup of coffee or tea in support of Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Month with Ms. Lisa Weems and Ms. Aszowavi Sakponou Adenka (Saundra). Virtual Women Veterans Support Groups are facilitated by female veterans in order to more efficiently address the needs of the Veterans, National Guard, and REservist communities by providing a relaxed and confidential environment in which to share past military and current transitional experiences with other veterans. There is a free legal clinic available for women veterans. This is open to all women of MD. DC, and VA. 

Virtual Evening Coffee Connection

Join the Virtual Evening Coffee Connection presented by USO in order to learn more about how to balance yourself after burnout and how to maximize energy through self rituals during the pandemic. It will be facilitated by Prya Jindal, the founder of Nextpat. 

TEAMS Workshop

Join TEAMS for their workshop series focused on the military spouse experience and aimed at preparing you for your next career move. The TEAMS workshops are DOL Transition Assistance Program modules designed to assist military spouses to plan and prepare for career growth and transition.

Head, Heart, Homefront: Presented by the Barry Robinson Center

Head, Heart, Homefront is a digital interview series and pop-up community for military families to build resiliency and inner strength in honor of Military Family Month, brought to you by the Barry Robinson Center. 

USO Holiday Programs

USO Holiday Programs registration is now open for 2020! Military families can enter lotteries for Turkeys for Our Troops, Trees for Our Heroes, and Project USO Elf. Registration opens October 21, 2020, deadline to register is November 1, 2020. Good luck!
