The Beauty of Giving presents Share A Haircut on November 11 at Hair Cuttery. For every adult hair cut purchased on November 11, a free haircut certificate will be donated to a veteran through partnerships with local agencies in the community.

American Red Cross Reconnection Workshops

The Red Cross offers a series of five different workshops designed for service members, veterans, and their families The workshops are free and available to all those impacted by a military deployment from all branches of the Armed Forces, which includes Reserve, National Guard, active duty service members, veterans and their families, including spouses, parents, siblings, significant others and close friends. along with two modules designed for children. Each workshop is facilitated by trained mental health providers and are approximately 1.5 hours in length. The Reconnection Workshops are confidential small-group modules, led by licensed mental health professionals.

Zero2016 Seeks Volunteers

As a component of Zero2016, Montgomery County is partnering with local agencies to implement a grassroots effort to conduct a two day “outreach blitz” to locate individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Montgomery County. The purpose of this “outreach blitz” is to create a more complete by-name list of people experiencing chronic homelessness.

Family 5k this Weekend

EveryMind, formerly Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, is hosting their first annual family-friendly 5k run and 3k fun walk (strollers and pets welcome for the walk) in Chevy Chase Sunday Sept 25th at 9am

Open Mic Features Comedians & Musicians

The next open mic will exclusively feature comedians and musicians from the military community, and is scheduled for 7PM on Thursday, September 22nd at Dog Tag Bakery (3206 Grace Street Northwest, Washington, DC).

RunforEveryMind 5K
