Veteran Open Mic Night
The Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) and Dog Tag Bakery are excited to continue with their monthly open mic for veterans, service members, and military family members. The next open mic will exclusively feature comedians and musicians from the military community, and is scheduled for 7PM on Thursday, September 22nd at Dog Tag Bakery (3206 Grace Street Northwest, Washington, DC). General admission tickets are $10, will be limited to the first 60 guests who purchase tickets, and can be reserved at classy.org/dogtagasap.
Post 9/11 Veteran Assembly in Baltimore
On Wednesday August 31st there will be an assembly of post 9/11 era veterans in Baltimore City. There is no underlying motive other than to build unity among this generation of Veterans, highlight the work being done by you and your respective vet lead/oriented organizations in Maryland, and promote open communication among those who have been active in our community as well as those who have not.
Vet Works for ‘GWOT’ Memorial
On August 10th, The Washington Post published an article on a Post 9/11 Veteran who is working to create a national memorial dedicated to those who served in support of the 'Global War on Terror.'
Free Improv Class for Veterans
The Armed Services Arts Partnership's seven-week improv class at no cost to/exclusively for veterans, service members, and military family members. Led by professional improviser and USAF Veteran Shawn Westfall, the course will provide a collaborative, supportive environment for participants to learn the basics of short form improv. DAV Seeking Volunteer Drivers
Due to a lack of Volunteer Drivers, many veteran have had their medical appointments cancelled and rescheduled. Fellow veterans deserve better. Please consider being a Volunteer Driver for the DAV Transportation Network at the Washington DC VAMC. You can contact the DC VAMC Voluntary Service office at 202-745-8320 to answer any questions.

On July 19th, at 5pm, Congressman Delaney's office will be hosting a Veteran One-Stop event in Cumberland, MD.
Fourth of July on the National Mall
The National Park Service has a great website dedicated to the Fourth of July Celebration on the National Mall this weekend. Visit their website to learn about road closures, safety procedures, the history of the holiday, and more about the national monuments and memorials you will see during your visit.
Motown Miracles Free Concert
The Motown Miracles have partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs on a nationwide tour to show their appreciation of America’s veterans and those who currently serve in the armed forces. Please join them in saying thank you to America's heroes on July 2, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Warner Theatre.
