Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts (VAIC) Scholarship Program
The Veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship Program 2018-2019 Application Available Now in MDCAPS (Maryland College Aid Processing System). This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to United States armed forces personnel who served in the Afghanistan or Iraq Conflicts, and their sons, daughters, or spouses who are current high school seniors, and full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled in an eligible accredited Maryland postsecondary institution.

Stress Resiliency Course for Military Families and Veterans
Hosted by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals in Silver Spring MD. This is a 6-session program focused on increasing stress resiliency. Learn about the effects of stress and how to counteract them with behavioral, cognitive, and communication tools. The program is provided at no cost to military families and veterans. Session 1 is Friday, March 2nd from 1300-1430. Registration is required.
2018 Military Sexual Trauma Summit April 18
The Veterans Mental Health Advisory Council, in collaboration with DCVAMC Mental Health department, and the MST coordinator, Dr. Tsila Kirsh, is planning an MST Summit to be held on 4/18/2018. The objectives of the MST Summit include: educating participants about the prevalence of MST and how the VA responds to MST; increasing awareness of the available VA and community resources and different modalities of care for Veterans experiencing mental and physical health challenges as a result of MST; and educating participants about the challenges service members face when deciding whether to report assault. Registration is required.

Microsoft Store at Tysons Corner Center offering free training for veterans
Starting in January 2018 the Microsoft Store at Tysons Corner Center has agreed to provide training for Veterans at no cost! All Veterans are eligible. Classes will be held on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Microsoft Store, Tysons Corner Center. Classes include: LinkedIn-how to launch and grow your profile (1st Wednesday), SWAY & EXCELL (2nd Wednesday), Office Word & Internet Safety (4th Wednesday).

The Alexandria Veterans Curation Program invites all to an open house and Meet and Greet at the Alexandria Laboratory on Thursday, January 11th from 10am to 2pm. This is an opportunity to meet the veterans and find out more about the program. RSVP's are required and still being accepted.
