Chesapeake Shakespeare Company (CSC) is offering a FREE program of creative workshops for veterans; active-duty, Guard, and Reserve service members; and their families and caregivers. This program is part of Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs and the state and local arts agencies with support provided by Americans for the Arts.
Military Children & Trauma Online
Although military families are extremely resilient, unique issues such as deployment, relocation, and injury can challenge the family system. This workshop will provide an overview of military stressors that can impact a family system as well as the common reactions that children and adolescents may display. Using a strength-based perspective, participants will explore how to build treatment plans around key coping skills and provide therapeutic interventions tailored to this unique population.
