10TH ANNUAL HIRING OUR HEROES AWARDS
Each year, Hiring Our Heroes recognizes the tremendous contributions of those who have gone above and beyond to help our nation’s heroes. Awards are presented to companies and individuals that have developed and applied best practices for addressing the employment challenges faced by America’s veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.
DC MILITARY-VETERAN ADVISORY COUNCIL VIRTUAL SESSION
Join the DC Military-Veteran Advisory Council (DC-MVAC) as we develop a blueprint to better serve our community members and providers in the region. This free event is open to local government, non-profit groups, and other veteran service organizations aimed at improving the lives of veterans and military families.
The Distinguished Service Awards
The Distinguished Service Awards honor individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations for their service to Veterans in the Greater Washington business community. The awards are presented in recognition of community stewardship and business leadership. The Distinguished Service Awards recognize finalists and will announce the DSA winners.
ServingTogether 2-Year In Practice Review
Join ServingTogether and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University for our two year In Practice Review. This important event will celebrate 2 years of working with our provider network and community organizations to change the lives of military, veterans and their families in the National Capital Region.
Community 5 Year Celebration
Willing Warriors will celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run on AUGUST 22TH, 2020. This event is open to the public and will include a Corvette Show, live music, 50/50 raffle, games, contests, vendors, tours of the guest lodging houses, food and beer! Willing Warriors provides cost-free retreat stays and programs that positively impact the recovery process of our nation’s wounded, injured, and ill service members and disabled Veterans. The Retreat experience offers the Warriors and their families a much-needed break from prolonged hospital care to relax, enjoy quality time, and reconnect in an intimate, home-like setting.
The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Patriot Day Ceremony
Virginia War Memorial Foundation hopes you will join them on Friday, September 11th for Virginia’s Annual Patriot Day Ceremony. Due to the ongoing public health concerns, this event will be live-streamed beginning at 7 p.m.
The Motherhood Juggle: Navigating Pregnancy as a Military Mom
Are you a military mom or mom-to-be with questions about pregnancy and feeding your baby? Join the USO and Motherhood Maternity for a live-stream discussion with award-winning journalist, and mom to one-year-old Moses, Tamron Hall. Military spouses and active duty service members are welcome!
