Beginning May 30th the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will be hosting free webinars about the process of applying for employment with the federal government. If you or someone you know is interested in working for the federal government, then these webinars will be of interests. All session are free. However, they are limited to 1,500 participants each. Webinars held on a variety of dates throughout June. Registration is required.

Federal Hiring Process Workshop in Southern Maryland
The Southern Maryland JobSource invites veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses to attend an exclusive workshop presented by DHS/U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to learn about the federal hiring process. Monday, March 18th from 10am - 3pm at the Charles County American Job Center.
Federal Resume Workshop
Applying for a federal job can be tedious and time-consuming. It is important to understand how you look on paper when looking for a job and this is accomplished by a strong resume. The purpose of this workshop is to teach the Ten Steps approach to apply for a federal job through USAJobs or direct hire. Multiple events available from November 2, 2018 to December 1, 2018. Registration is required.
Project Homeless Connect September 20th
Project Homeless Connect (PHC) brings together essential services at the area’s largest resource fair to meet the needs of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. By eliminating barriers that keep them from breaking free of the cycle of homelessness, they’re winning. United Way NCA brings together local service providers from medical, to housing, to employment and much more – serving nearly 1100 PHC participants to date. 9am-5pm DC Armory 2010 E. Join Hiring Our Heroes and Military Corps Career Connect (C3) at the Military Spouse Hiring Reception, National Harbor, MD. Thursday, August 2 from 2 - 9 pm. This event is free and is open to all military, veteran, and Gold Star spouses, as well as employers and service organizations. Service members and veterans are also welcome.
Build a Successful Civilian Career with C3
Military Corps Career Connect (C3) is a program designed to help transitioning Maryland service members and military spouses build a successful career. The program includes career planning and coaching, credentials and certifications and hands on experience through on-the-job training, paid work experience or fellowship.
Job Fair – Winchester, VA – Oct 23
VFW Post 2123 and the VEC have joined together to put on a job fair on October 23rd at the National Guard Armory, 181 Pendleton Drive, Winchester VA from 10 AM to 4 PM. Veterans are encouraged to attend.
