Coffee Talk: The Power of Laughter

Coffee Talk: The Power of Laughter

Sat, May 16, 2020

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST

Try to remember the last time you had a really good laugh. Like a tummy hurting, cheeks aching, tears streaming laugh. How did you feel? You probably felt amazing, because laughter really is the best medicine. Laughing descreases our stress hormones, releases pleasure-inducing neurotransmitters and endorphins, in the brain, boosts our immue system, and help us feel more connected in our relationships. In short, laughing makes us feel better, and in a time where things still feel quite uncertain and stressful, we could all use a good laugh…or 2…or 3.

Join the Veteran Spouse Network and fellow military and veteran spouses, partners, and caregivers for a coffee talk, where they’ll discuss how we’re all coping with our current climate, and discuss what’s been helping get us all through it, and what’s providing us with those gut-busting laughs. Maybe you have a favorite comedian, funny movie or TV show. Maybe family game night is a sure way to bring on the laughing tears. Come ready to share your strategies for keeping laughter alive in your life, and how this can help you get through this time of isolation and uncertainty.

Upon registration for the event, you will be e-mailed a Zoom invite to join via computer, tablet, or phone.
