Award Categories:
Veteran-Owned Business of the Year: – Businesses that have demonstrated positive business Performance, and are poised for future success
Emerging Business (Less than 5 years in business)
Maturing Business (between 5 and 10 years in business)
Established Business (more than 10 years in business)
Veteran Service Organization of the Year – An organization or agency that has made meaningful contributions to support, mentor and positively integrate veteran entrepreneurs and/or veteran-owned businesses into the community in the Greater Washington region
Veteran Employee of the Year – A person who has made meaningful impact to their company and/or community in support and service of Veterans and/or Veteran families in the National Capital Region.
Leading Through Extended Crisis
Keynoting the 2020 Distinguished Service Awards is Major General Malcolm Frost, U.S. Army Retired, whose timely address will relate leadership traits he learned in a career spent enduring repeated crisis realized in combat to leading in business within today’s current pandemic environment. As Major General Frost summarizes, “How to BE and what to DO as a leader during extended crisis.”
Major General Malcolm Frost (Ret) has over 32 years of leadership experience in both the U.S. Army and business. He currently specializes in corporate leader development, crisis communications, and keynote speaking. He served as a career Infantryman, commanding and leading soldiers at every level from Lieutenant through to 2-star General. Throughout his military career, he provided large-scale strategic and operational leadership and oversight of units in the Indo-Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe, and the United States, while successfully leading the evolution of soldier training programs in peace and war.
