Psych Central posted an article highlighting a study published by the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The study looked at the outcomes of the FOCUS (Families Overcoming Under Stress) intervention on military families. The purpose of the intervention is to connect military families with behavioral healthcare resources.
The article states, “Overall, there was an improvement in outcomes for both the military and civilian parent with significant reductions in clinically meaningful anxiety and depression symptoms (23 percent at intake to 11 percent at follow up).” Children also reported a reduction in anxiety after the intervention.
