Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program


The Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program provides recently transitioned veterans and military spouses paid fellowships with management training and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce.


This program is made available through Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation’s (AAWDC) Military Corps Career Connect (C3). Interested candidates must first apply and be interviewed by participating companies. Upon selection, fellows are placed in management or professional positions with host companies 4 days a week for up to 6 weeks and paid a wage of $15 per hour for the duration of the fellowship. After successfully completing the program, fellows will have the ability to interview for employment with their host company. Fellows will also participate in a Networking Reception with our employers and partners designed to expand their opportunities and networks.

As a result of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s partnership with Simplilearn, full cost funding for a certification track course through Simplilearn is available to each fellow who participates in this program. The course is chosen by the fellow from a wide variety of options and completed online.

To be eligible, you must (a) reside in Maryland or the District of Columbia, (b) have current orders that show 18 months remaining in the local area (spouses), (c) must have separated (retirees not eligible) from service within the last 4 years (veterans), and (d) have a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of work experience or an Associate’s degree with 5+ years of work experience. Note: You must have transportation available.
