Mentoring Youth from Military Families Webinar

The National Mentoring Partnership is offering a webinar, “Mentoring Youth from Military Families: Lessons Learned and Effective Strategies,” Thursday December 17th. Information about the webinar is below.  For more information, click here.

“One of the more challenging circumstances a young person can face is having a parent deployed in a military campaign, especially in a time of war. Mentoring programs have increasingly tried to serve these children, both by integrating them into more traditional mentoring services and by creating unique mentoring models to meet their needs. This work can come with challenges, as programs work to partner with military institutions and understand the culture, norms, and needs of military families and youth. Join our expert panel of researchers (Antoinette Basualdo-Delmonico, Boston University), technical assistance providers (Jim Seevers, Dare Mighty Things), and practitioners (Bonnie Campbell, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County) as we explore strategies programs can use to serve these families more effectively and share lessons learned from previous efforts.”
