NPR: Service Dogs & PTSD
More and more veterans are using service dogs to help cope with their Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). However, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) will not pay for veterans to receive the highly trained service animals. The NPR story states that the VA will be launching a study to determine the effectiveness of service animals and veterans with PTSD.
