Prince George’s County Offers Veterans Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies

We recognize the challenges faced by veterans returning home with a disability. To help meet your wellness needs, the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation has a unique program, Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies, FREE-of-charge to qualified veterans.
Healthy Minds and Bodies - Veterans, Fitness Training, Networking

Eligible veterans receive a free year of coaching and access to fitness facilities courtesy of Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Eligibility

  • Serves all military veterans
  • 10% or more service-related disability
  • Honorable discharge

Services

Veterans accepted into the Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies Program will receive:

  • Personal training sessions with a certified trainer experienced in post-rehabilitation exercise
  • One-year fitness membership
  •  One-year membership for a spouse, partner, or friend
  • Invitations to optional social events.
Start dates and training sessions with a certified trainer will be tailored to meet the needs of each participant. An initial consult with staff is required to determine if this program is right for you. Fitness memberships and training sessions are affiliated with the Wayne K. Curry, Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex.
