The Poetry of Memory Workshop with Victoria Kelly

ABOUT

Accomplished poet and author of “When the Men Go Off to War”, Victoria Kelly, will show how the best poetry is written about what we know, and this workshop will look at how to successfully craft poems out of specific memories. We will look at poems by published writers, and you will have the opportunity to write a poem in class, share your work with your classmates and get feedback on your work.

WHERE & WHEN

This workshop will take place at the Capitol Post office (625 N Washington St. Ste #425, Alexandria, VA 22314) from 10 AM – 2 PM on Saturday, November 17.  There are a few spaces remaining for this workshop. The session is open to/free for all spouses of service members (active and reserve) and veterans. Apply here.  

VICTORIA KELLY

Victoria Kelly was born in New Jersey and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University. As a U.S. George J. Mitchell Scholar, she received her M.Phil. in Creative Writing from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and went on to earn her M.F.A. in Creative Writing in from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
