All HeroHaven 2020 activities will be held outside at the front entrance of the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, bldg. 500. There are no inside activities. The goal is for homeless Veterans to STOP at the Stand Down areas, they will DROP off information/resources and items to them and the Veteran will ROLL out.
Informational Handouts Available on Services:
- Flu shots will be available on campus at HeroHaven Stand Down.
- Health Care Information: Women’s Health Care Services, Substance Abuse Treatment, PTSD, Services, Mental Health Services (inpatient & outpatient), Dom Services, general healthcare information, and various other VA services.
- Housing Services: Homeless Veteran Services such as Grant and Per Diem Transitional Housing, HUD-VASH, Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), and local community services.
- Employment Support: Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) including job/employment services and Compensated Work Therapy.
- Other Services: Veteran Benefits Administration, Vet Centers, Veterans Service Organizations, Legal Aid, Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)and Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous Meetings, and various community services.
- Special Giveaways: Promotional items and limited comfort items for Veterans exiting homelessness or in general need of assistance.
