Veterans, Active Duty Military Service Members, and Military and Veteran Spouses, are cordially invited to a FREE Transition Workshop: “Wellness and Healing: Practical Techniques and Tools for Self-Care.” Are you looking for simple ways to to integrate wellness into your daily life — in your diet, care for your physical body, and your emotional and spiritual health? Then join this workshop for a dynamic and practical morning of talks and small group discussions that will help you to integrate practical techniques and positive choices into your life for a healthier and happier life.

Workshop Highlights: Our speakers, Deanna Won and Jim McNulty, will bring their own life experiences in physical and emotional healing and wellness to their presentations, providing practical self-care tools.

Jim McNulty is the founder of “The Upper Room” — a peer to peer PTS support group that he founded 5 years ago in the aftermath of his experience as a survivor of the 2011 hostage situation at the Discovery Channel headquarters in downtown Bethesda. He credits the Montgomery County SWAT team with saving his life. Since then, Jim has actively looked for opportunities where he can make the most difference.

Col. Deanna Won, USAF Retired, is the Founder of Keynotes to Life. A Speaker, Leadership Consultant, and Holistic Health Coach, Deanna’s mission is to inspire people to reach their highest potential through integrating leadership principles with purposeful and healthy living. While still active duty, Deanna was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and admitted into hospice with 4 weeks to live. Her miraculous recovery fuels her strong passion to educate and empower anyone faced with chronic health conditions. Deanna will provide a presentation and discussion on how to best optimize nutrition to support recovery from traumatic brain injury.
