Veteran Housing Connections Forum – Mar 26

ServingTogether, in conjunction with Fairfax County Office of Public Private Private Partnerships (OP3) will be holding a Veteran Housing Connections Forum on Monday, March 26 from 9 am - 1 pm at the Fairfax Government Center in Fairfax, VA. Organizations that work with or support veteran housing needs are encouraged to attend. More details to come soon on speakers and panelists for the event!

ASAP is thrilled to be invited to perform at the Atlas INTERSECTIONS 2018 Festival, one of DC’s most prominent theater festivals. A handful of their veteran artists - as well as US Navy Veteran and world-touring comedian PJ Walsh - will be performing in a storytelling and stand-up comedy show entitled, "More than a Uniform.” This will be one of ASAP's most powerful performances to date. As such, they are offering free tickets to ensure the community can experience the show.

Hire Vets Now Networking Reception – Mar 22

Register for the Virginia’s HIRE VETS NOW Networking Event on March 22 at Fort Belvoir to share in camaraderie, professional development and career networking. You’re invited to connect directly with Virginia companies seeking to hire Veterans. Bring your resume and enjoy networking in a fun, casual setting. A grab-and-go lunch will be provided. This event is free and open to active duty service members scheduled to transition over the next year, Guard and Reserve, and veterans.

Project Welcome Home Troops will be conducting a Power Breath Meditation Meditation Workshop in Reston, VA February 22-26. This is a FREE workshop for veterans. Especially those dealing with stress, anxiety and sleep problems.

Save the Date: Virginia Women Veterans Summit – June 14-15

The Virginia Women Veterans Summit will be held on June 14 & 15 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center. This year's focus is on Change Makers and Trailblazers. Hosted by Virginia Department of Veteran Services, U.S. Dept. of Veteran Affairs, Disabled American Veterans, Virginia National Guard, Women Veterans Interactive, VEC and ESGR. More details to come.

1st Annual Female Veteran/Military Spouses Empowerment & Resources Dinner

Team GCO and VSRG ( 501(c)(3) is excited to announce the 1st Annual Female Veteran/Military Spouses Empowerment & Resource Dinner on March 22nd. This dinner who is hosted by WJLA Sports Anchor Erin Hawksworth and Key Notes to be delivered by the incredible MAJ Jas Boothe and Redskins Charitable Foundation Executive Director Jane Rodgers will be a closed dinner and networking forum for women veteran and military spouses to have access to prominent community and female business leaders provide and personal and professional development resources.

Warrior Herd: Veterans Camaraderie Workshop – Mar 10

Project Horse Empowerment Center in Purcellville, VA is hosting a free Warrior Herd Wellness Workshop on Saturday, March 10 (applications due March 1). This workshop is for VETERANS enabling them to enjoy a restorative and enriching experience together in a serene setting. Warrior Herd is a free strengths-based, horse-powered wellness initiative designed to enhance interpersonal relationships, resiliency and rejuvenation. All horse interactions and activities occur on the ground, and no riding is involved.

Veterans Clinic Conference: Feb 28 – Mar 1

NLSVCC 2018 Conference will be February 28 – March 1 in Washington, DC (Offices of McDermott Will & Emery - 500 North Capitol Street, NW). The NLSVCC is a collaborative effort of the nation’s law school legal clinics dedicated to addressing the unique legal needs of U.S. military veterans on a pro bono basis. This conference is for both new and advanced practitioners.  Come learn how to start a pro bono Veterans Clinic!
