  • Veterans Employment Transition Summit & Hiring Event – April 20 & 21

    The NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI) is partnering with the Military District of Washington (MDW) to put on another two-day Veteran Employment Transition Summit (VETS) at the Community Center at Fort Myer on Thursday and Friday, April 20-21. Job seeking transitioning military members, Veterans and military spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • Caregivers Coffee Chat

    Caregivers Coffee Chat is held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Relax and connect with other caregivers in the community.

  • VEI VETWORKING Program – March 29 & April 5

    The Northern Virginia Technology Council’s Veteran Employment Initiative offers a VETWORKING program which provides Veteran and military spouse jobseekers with career transition education and personal growth experiences to succeed in seeking civilian employment. The next session will be held on March 29 & April 5 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm for each session at The MITRE Corporation at 1550 Westbranch Dr. McLean, VA.

  • Care Giver Study Seeks Participants

    Do you care for a service member or veteran who had a TBI after October 2001 while serving in the military? If so, you may be eligible to participate in a study requested by Congress.

  • Washington DC Hiring Expo with the Washington Wizards

    U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring our Heroes will be holding a Military Hiring Fair and Networking Reception for service members, veterans, and military spouses will take place on March 14 & 15.

  • Brain Training for Military and Veteran Caregivers

    The Center for BrainHealth is offering a Military Spouses and Caregivers Training March 8th and 9th in Silver Spring MD. Free to military and veteran caregivers. Registration is required.

  • Blue Star Families – Caregivers Event – Feb 3

    Blue Star Families will be hosting an event for service member and veteran caregivers on Friday, February 3 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Soldier & Family Assistance Center on Fort Belvoir. The event will allow fellow caregivers to learn the benefits of essential oils. Lunch, chocolate fondue found, and personalized oils will be provided.

  • Hiring our Heroes Military, Veteran and Spouse Hiring Fair January 6th

    This Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop is led by HR and workforce professionals and covers a variety of topics including resume building, networking, and interview tips, taking into account the job seeker’s military background and lifestyle. Hiring Our Heroes digital tools are also integrated into the workshop curriculum. Immediately following the workshop, volunteer career coaches will help you develop an elevator pitch, participate in a mock interview, and create a more effective resume. Registration is required.

  • Military Spouse Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted

    The National Military Family Association is accepting applications for their Military Spouse Scholarship Program. Application periods: Oct 1–January 15 | May 1–June 30.

  • Scholarship for Caregivers

    Yellow Ribbon Fund is offering their Pillars of Strength scholarship to caregivers. The scholarship is to attend University of Maryland University College (UMUC) which programs available that are fully online. Caregivers across the country are eligible to apply. This is a first of its kind scholarship to accept applications from ALL volunteer caregivers of ALL injured service members.
