Wreaths Across America – Dec 16
Join Blue Star Families and many others to remember our fallen heroes, honor those who serve, and teach the value of freedom by volunteering at Arlington National Cemetery. Blue Star Families will be participating in Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 16th, at 8:30 a.m. If you aren't familiar with Wreaths Across America, you will help lay wreaths on all of the grave sites of those who have served our country. There is no age limit to volunteer, and we encourage families to come and share the experience.
VA announces rollout and application process for new Veterans ID Card
VA has announced that the application process for the national Veterans Identification Card (VIC) is now available for Veterans — yet another action honoring their service. To request a VIC, Veterans must visit vets.gov, click on “Apply for Printed Veteran ID Card” on the bottom left of the page sign in or create an account.
Employment for Justice-Involved Veterans Discussion – Dec 5
The next Fairfax County Veteran Collaborative is Tuesday, December 5 from 1 - 3 pm at the Patrick Henry Library (101 Maple Avenue East, Vienna, VA 22180). We will be discussing employment and behavioral health services for Justice Involved Veterans.
Veterans Open Mic @ Dog Tag Bakery – Dec 14
Veterans Open Mic Night is set for Thursday, December 14th at Dog Tag Bakery (3206 Grace Street Northwest, Washington, DC). Doors will open at 6:30PM and the event will begin at 7PM. This month's open mic will be open to all types of performers - from comics to storytellers to musicians - and it will provide a platform for veteran artists to showcase their talents, express themselves, and have their voices heard in front of members of the local community.
Veteran Transition Workshop – Jan 13
The Travis Manion Foundation will be holding a Veteran Transition Workshop on Saturday, January 13 from 12 - 5 pm at their office in Washington DC. Their veteran transition workshops aid veterans in leveraging their strengths, passions & skills to thrive personally and professionally in their post-military lives.

One day veterans pro bono pop up legal clinic. Talk to an attorney who can help you with your legal issues in veterans law, disability and benefits claims and landlord/tenant law. Appointments recommended.

Bourbiz is the new way for military members and veterans to connect professionally and grow whether you are active duty, Reserve/Guard, veteran, military spouse, caregiver, entrepreneur or working professional. Stronger Families – Taste of OXYGEN Transition Workshop – Dec 14
USO's Pathfinder program presents Taste of OXYGEN, a workshop packed with information, interaction, and an open question and answer session, the 60-90 minute event creates a fun learning environment. The Transition Workshops help move couples or individuals into a deeper investment in their relationship during their transition from the military. Thursday, December 14 from 5 - 8 pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir.
