Walking Together, a Retreat for Warriors & Caregivers

Walking Together, a Retreat for Warriors and Caregivers is open to all veterans, active duty and reserve military, spouses, and caregivers. During the walk participants will reflect on spiritual and personal life journeys. Saturday, March 30 from 9:30am - 2:00pm in Washington DC. This workshop will be led by Susan Mitchell, a member of the Ministry team and a lay chaplain who previously led our veterans' writing workshops on the Lament Psalms during the Spring and Fall of 2018. Continuum of Care for Justice-Involved Veterans in DC

This event will feature a panel of local agency representatives who will provide an overview of available resources along the continuum of care for veterans who are involved in the District's criminal justice system. Tuesday, March 26 from 2:30-4:00 PM. Registration is required.

Open Call for Military Brats Art Exhibition

The Workhouse Military in the Arts Initiative invites all children of active duty or retired service members, veterans and reservists (ages 5+) to submit a single artwork. The exhibition features work representing military children, affectionately knows as "military brats," a badge of honor that describes life in a military family- multiple moves, new beginnings, stressors, deployments - an overall culturally unique experience differing from civilian life as expressed through original artwork. Images must be digitally sent for review and inclusion by March 22, 2019.

Coffee Connect for Military Spouses

Join the USO as they host a small gathering for military spouses to connect with each other while enjoying a cup of coffee. This is a great way to network, share advice, discuss local events and meet new friends. Coffee Chats are held from 10:00-11:00 am at the USO. Wednesday, March 20th Fort Meade USO Center and Thursday, March 28th at the USO Warrior and Family Center, Fort Belvoir, Open to all active duty spouses. Registration is required.
