Retirement & Financial Readiness

Join the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association as they review seven key decisions that service members must make when transitioning from service. The seminar discusses how to approach each decision and also how to best make choices given the individual circumstances. Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), VA Disability, Life Insurance, Medical & Dental Insurance, Long Term Care coverage, and Social Security options are reviewed.

DC VetsRide Program

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs (MOVA), the District’s Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) and Via Transportation have expanded VetsRide to include DC veterans, who are recently unemployed. Ride vouchers have been increased from four to 10 vouchers per month, with the option of rolling over any unused voucher into the following month. VetsRide destinations include health and housing appointments, food distribution sites, grocery stores, pharmacies, educational opportunities, and employment.

Spotlight on Women’s Health Current LGBT Health Research in VA

Join HSR&D cyberseminars as they provide an overview of current VA HSR&D research about LGBT Veterans, feature two examples of HSR&D-supported research projects focused on LGBT Veterans, and summarize some infrastructural VA resources (e.g., SharePoint, LGBT research group) that can support LGBT Veteran research.
