GMU Military, Veterans, & Families Initiative

Veterans struggle with alcohol and drug use problems at higher rates than non-veterans. Some of these struggles are linked with higher rates of PTSD and other disorders. In this installment of the “Veterans’ Lived Experience” webinar series, George Mason’s Military, Veterans, & Families Initiative is partnering with the Veterans Health and Wellness Foundation are partnering to bring you personal stories of struggle with substance misuse, as well as resources and help from Dr. Patti Ferssizidis, a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in substance use disorders prevention and treatment.

Veteran Zoom Chronic Pain Support Group

We want to let everyone know about the US Pain Foundation’s new group for military and veterans. This group meets on the 1st Thursday of every month and will be facilitated by Katie Benson, Coast Guard veteran and trained U.S. Pain Foundation leader.

Come and bring a friend to this monthly no cost yoga class! After class, members of VETOGA go to Starbucks Van Dorn for coffee, tea, and community.
