JobZone will be hosting a job fair on Thursday, February 16 from 10 am - 2 pm at American Legion Post 176 in Springfield, VA. 10 am to 12 pm will be reserved for military, veterans and their families.
Dog Tag Bakery Fellowship Program
The Dog Tag Inc. Fellowship works in partnership with Georgetown University to deliver a professional development program designed to prepare military veterans with service connected disabilities, spouses and caregivers to find success as they transition into the civilian workforce. This five month program will assist in translating military experience to workplace skills and provide tools to prepare for interviews and apply for jobs. They are accepting applications now for their Summer 2017 class. Application deadline: April 19, 2017

Blue Star Families – Caregivers Event – Feb 3
Blue Star Families will be hosting an event for service member and veteran caregivers on Friday, February 3 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at the Soldier & Family Assistance Center on Fort Belvoir. The event will allow fellow caregivers to learn the benefits of essential oils. Lunch, chocolate fondue found, and personalized oils will be provided.

DC I-Corps Veteran Entrepreneur Lean Startup Program
Calling All Veteran Entrepreneurs! Are you a veteran with the passion for high-tech entrepreneurship, but you don't have a team or specific idea for a business in mind? DC I-Corps and George Washington University in partnership with the Small Business Administration Office of Veterans Business Development are offering a new program that teaches prospective veteran entrepreneurs how to create technology startups using technologies developed in Federal Labs. The program is free to selected participants.
Military Family Movie Night at the J – Jan 28
Project Welcome Home is having a Military Family Movie Night & Dinner on Saturday, Jan 28 at 6:30 pm at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia. They will be watching the “Sandlot” – a great family movie – and enjoy baseball food – hot dogs, pretzels, peanuts, and popcorn. Fee: $5 per person; $20 max per family.
Boots to Business Reboot – Feb 24
Veteran Business Outreach Center (VBOC), an SBA sponsored program of Community Business Partnership in Springfield, VA, will be conducting a Boots to Business Reboot program on Friday, February 24 from 9 am - 4 pm at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. This is a great two-step entrepreneurship training program for veterans and their spouses.
Uncommon Coders – Learn Java at no cost
Northern Virginia Technology Council is pleased to announce a new program under the Veteran Employment Initiative (VEI) for 2017- Uncommon Coders. Northern Virginia Community College has partnered with the NVTC Veteran Employment Initiative to provide a no-cost course teaching the Java programming language to a cohort of up to 20 Veterans and military/Veteran spouses.

Objective Rally Point will be holding it's next monthly Veteran Networking Breakfast on Tuesday, January 24 from 7:15 am - 9 am at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA. Cost is $35 and includes a full breakfast.
